Meet Britta Voigt

Originating from the midwest (Ohio),   I moved to the North County area of San Diego in 2003 and currently reside and have my practice in Encinitas.

Counseling as a career choice has been a logical and organic outgrowth of my work, personal life, and innate inclinations.

In my roles as mother, certified coach, and someone who dove deep into her own healing - through meditation, breathwork, the study of the work of Daniel Siegel in interrelational neurobiology, and by attending a host of seminars held by international mind/body thought leaders - my work is a reflection of my passion and purpose.

While my professional post graduate training (Master's in Psychology/Counseling) and other related credentials are all certainly important, just as vital to my effectiveness as a counselor is my own personal journey across time and the broad and deep experiences I have had as a woman, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend, a business owner, an employee, a downsized person, a grieving person and a divorced person. My sensitivity has been heightened, my compassion deepened, and my perspective broadened through mindfulness and spiritual practices which have sustained me.

Along with personal growth work, my other passions are  art, poetry, organic gardening,  nutrition, travel, and sustainable living.

Philosophy

I practice with mindfulness, loving kindness, compassion and non-judgment while creating an atmosphere that feels safe and nurturing to my client.

I believe we are responsible for the quality of our present experience; however, by tracing underlying patterns and emotions to a causal point, we have the opportunity to integrate feelings and beliefs that were previously keeping us "stuck" in old and ineffective ways of behaving.
